Tiny yellow sun Shines alone through grey branches Just true to itself
I passed this single blooming daffodil on my walk yesterday. It stood out among tangled twigs, alone in its brilliance.
I’ve seen daffodils do this before. And I’ve taken similar pictures of them before, inspired by their quiet confidence, their willingness to bloom on their own timeline.
They’re true to themselves, whatever phase of daffodil they’re in.
That feels almost revolutionary to me.
It can feel hard to stand out. It can feel hard to stay true to yourself when you're alone in that truth. It can feel hard to honor your truth as it changes with your evolution.
Ted Lasso reminded us to be a goldfish.
Be a daffodil, too.
Even if it takes time.
Even when it’s hard.
